Revealing My Story: A Survivor of Sexual Abuse
Sexual abuse comes in all forms and with many different experiences. Seldomly do the actions and the consequences of sexual abuse happen in the way we have been taught; the telltale signs we learn are often not there. People who have never experienced molestation wonder why the victim didn’t do this or that. And I get it. You can’t understand until it’s happened to you. Until you’ve been the victim. Even then you might not fully understand it. And I can honestly say I am a person who loves to think I would fight with all I’m worth. I mean, that is what happened the second time. But not the…

Staying Healthy During Covid-19
We all know the drill…wash your hands, stay inside, cough into your elbow, etc. But I want you to be both physically AND mentally healthy, so here is a list of practices to keep you thriving. 1. Drink plenty of H2O Staying hydrated is so important, especially for organs like your kidneys. Water allows your body to flush out toxins, regulates your body temperature, and helps maintain blood pressure, amongst many other benefits. If you’re like me and you don’t particularly like plain water, try spicing it up with lemon…

Love Yourself Like Your Dog Loves You
I’ve had dogs my entire life, but Meeka was the first one I could call my own. Meeka is a rescue who was beaten as a puppy then neglected for the majority of her life. I adopted her when she was 5. She was terrified of people. I spent an hour and a half at her foster home, and the only time she would come near me was to quickly grab a treat before running away. Still, my gut told me she was the companion for me. I took her home and she was so nervous she wouldn’t eat, drink, or come near anyone. I wanted so badly to hug…

8 Ways to Incorporate Fitness Into Your Day with an Injury
Injuries SUCK! That’s a simple matter of fact. I went from working out 5-6 days a week to not being able to lift weights or do much of any cardio for the last 4 1/2 months due to injuries from a car accident. I now suffer from Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, so I have nerve pain down my right arm, and I’m not supposed to lift it above 90 degrees because my blood supply becomes compressed and my arm goes numb/tingly. I also have problems with my neck and lower back, so I am limited as to what I can do. It was very frustrating not being able to perform daily…
